Vangri Mama:10 Plastic Bottles = 1 Tree Sapling
Vangri Mama is a public climate-action booth where anyone can exchange 10 used plastic bottles for an eco-friendly sapling. The campaign is run under Mission Green Bangladesh with support from Dhaka University Green Movement and Greeny.

How Vangri Mama Works
Step 1
Collect
Gather 10 used plastic bottles from home, campus, or your neighborhood.
Step 2
Visit
Bring them to the Vangri Mama booth beside the main entrance of the book fair.
Step 3
Exchange
Hand over the bottles and receive an eco-friendly tree sapling instantly.
Step 4
Plant
Plant and care for your sapling to turn plastic waste into long-term green impact.
Community Response
On opening day, people of different ages collected saplings from the booth, including Umama Fatema, coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement. The initiative has already become a visible example of practical citizen climate action in Dhaka.
